Gearin' up to Restart work on Shima: Zone Of Death.
It is said that a sword was drawn from the ocean, and three droplets fell from the blade, and that they formed the three main isles.
This legend is wrong. There were four. The fourth and last one, however, was lost and disrupted by the ripples of the others...
Shima is a vast dead volcanic crater. Sharp crags rise up above the island as high as mountains. Surrounded by shallows in the ocean, ships which ventured too near the Sheer cliff face would find themselves crushed on the rocks. Even if a ship could navigate through the rocks and reefs the inlet to Shima's bay is twisting and narrow harboring many traps and hazards. Most who survive the journey are never heard from again.
Once in the bay one would find a self sufficient island nation with every form of resource imaginable. In the center of this island lies Jiyuu city. A colossal construct of steel and concrete and homage to the aptitude of the architects and technicians of Shima. Outside of the city, beyond the farmlands rest the Gakidou plains. An area filled with wicked spirits and strife, where life expectancy is even lower than in the underbelly of Jiyuu itself. Many wars have been fought on the Gakidou plains and the souls of those battles haunt the land relentlessly.
The island as a whole is in a constant state of civil war and marshal law. Not only do the citizens have to deal with the turmoil of civil war and terrorism, but they must contend street gangs, corrupt police and seemingly random culling of the demonic incursion. Life on Shima is not an easy one but its the only one you got.
One can only hope Shugotenshis shadow government can end the chaos and reinstate the house of the lords before its too late
